Liar Liar Poem by Anna Matthew

Liar Liar

Dust on the window, blocking my view
You're standing right there but I can't truly see you
What are you doing?
I'm asking you questions but you don't respond.
Can you see me?
The picture in your mind, am I in it?
She doesn't have a clue, You know.
You've become indulged in two worlds
What one do you like best?
The one where you're free to be true to yourself?
I knew you didn't like pretending.
Liar liar.
Tell me something exciting, tell me the truth
Show the world what you dream of
Become clear, I'd like to see you.
Does she fantasise about it too?
I didn't think so
Lights off, she's gone
You're here, I was wrong
All along.
I'm going home.
Haven't you got somewhere to be?
