Liberty Poem by Farahh Denial

Liberty

Liberty was holding my hand when i was a young girl.
it taught me how to love, it taught me how to laugh.
Liberty was the air i felt, my window into the wilderness.
it meant everything to me yet it is gone for free.

As darkness came in my way, caged i've been named.
its gloominess left me alone, lonely by its chains.
Darkness let me in, and it took me all the way.
Nothing meant anything to me yet it is here for my tears as it is here for me.
