Life - A Learning Drill Poem by Rodion Myshkin

Life - A Learning Drill

With faith brimming today morn
I walked the city of gardens and lakes
Stitching my name on my cap
To play in the snow
And awake in the city of lights.

Alas, a shock awaiting
Refused it said,
Left me blank
And laughing at the frailty of hopes
Woven with determination and will,
Fallen like a heap of cards
Blown away by the monsoon winds.

Cosmic hands do your worst
In a span of hours
I'm Mad and Back again
Mapping my way
To palace and fort.

Smiling still
I take each fall
Like a learning drill.
