Life - A Sparkling Red Wine (Abridged) Poem by Seema Jayaraman

Life - A Sparkling Red Wine (Abridged)

Rating: 4.5

I spin like a merry go round
eyes closed, my joy knows no bound
cart wheeling freely I'll be found
sliding down slippery green mound
holding aloft to the dawn jocund

life brimming sparkling red wine
spark incremented, eternal amaranthine
to carousels around campfires incline
vixen's hot blood scalding weak spine
dancing light foot I am a delicate glass stein

color carousing my veins a deep burgundy
caught criss crossing thresholds of insobriety
snatch from me you can't my sherry
rendezvous on my cheeks stained ruby
under rose arbor, bare limbs played rugby
