Life, As It Is …… Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

Life, As It Is ……

Seed of an imaginary castle
Sky high, vast in length and breadth
Overwhelming intricacies
Worldwide fame
Divine utility
Was planted at a corner
In my prestigious garden

Watered, as and when needed
Protected against woes
Watched day in day out
With ballooned up eagerness

Seed sprouted clandestinely
and emerged out openly
as a tiny seedling
exposed to sun moon rain wind etc

One day I woke up
To observe a celebrity
Severed it down at crown
Somebody close enough
fled from me momentarily
Lest witness anguish in me
