Life & Death Poem by NikHil Mukhija

Life & Death

White sheets, sounds of crying, & laughter alongside,
& then at the end there emerges a distance so wide!
Life was a Constant Flickering journey worth a Ride,
We crib so lot, when under the Tide,
We Try to Run, We try to Hide!
Having no trust in ourselves, We crave For a Guide,
Sometimes here, & Sometimes the other Side!
How can we be so Fickle Minded & hungry For a Bide,
When Will we learn to decide Without an external vide?
No Respect till someone cares & is with us,
For even small petty things We make a Fuss!
We Resent & Complaint About just the –ve traits,
Trying to Conceive Flamboyant people in our baits!
We have a Tendency to Appreciate the ideal one,
But to accompany the same there would be none!
We Show sympathy N concern to prove our idealism,
Just to justify our Honesty We do all the Criticism!
We Claim so many things, Yet we Flinch to follow,
Makes me wonder, were all those promises Hollow?
It would have been so better, Had we meant even 1% of what we said,
Atleast that would have avoided all the Alarms Of red!
Showing disinterest in sorting it all out,
Assuming time will pacify, but it all ends in a Cross Shout!
Remorse, Regret, Grudge is all we are left with,
Racing ahead of time, Dicing a blind bid!
There is nothing above Life,
So value this whole Strife,
Let your heart Flow, Leave the mind behind,
Let your actions depict you humane & kind!
In the end it would be nothing But only the ashes that would remind!
