Life Filled With Suffering Poem by Richard Dave Luison

Life Filled With Suffering

Once the Buddha in his meditation realizes
That in this so called life, there is pain everyone has to suffer.
Accordingly, these are all caused in many ways.
What he found to be the root cause for life's misery
Are but the person's inordinate desire for anything earthly.

Desire can be translated as man's "thirst" or "craving."
It is manifested through man's whimsical wanting.
Man will always suffer, in one way or the other
So long as he continue to desire for oneself not for another.

This desire in relation to suffering
Ought to be understood in a particular manner.
That is, we suffer when we desire for something
That is beyond our capability of doing.
As well, when become not contented
With what we are already given.

sigh, how miserable of a life it is then.
Just don't know what to think and what to do.
But this confusion even, causes me to suffer too.
