Life In Disunited States Poem by bob eichen

Life In Disunited States

Rating: 5.0

When I was younger
I had three drugs
One let me sleep at night
One brought me happiness
And one kept me sane!
Together they
Made a bad job tolerable
A loveless marriage insignificant
and growing older a joy!
Then dissolution
And now
My drug for sleep, I hold once a week
My drug that brought happiness, I see once a month
And the only thing that kept me sane, he never visits me at all!
Life without your kids
is like life
without drugs
Painful!
