Life is sometimes the best poem
Sometimes the worst-
Mostly it is not a poem
But just what it is
In forgettable banality-

We stood together once
As if we were happiness itself-

Where you are now
I don’t understand-
And the poem and the no-poem-
nonetheless
try to go on.
