Life Jacket Poem by dripping heart

Life Jacket

Rating: 5.0

He loves me, He loves me not
eat your heart out or at least learn how to use it.
Don't you understand that this is just a waste of time?
Your words amount to nothing
in the end....He doesn't really love you.
You've fallen in the teenage trap.
Your brain is being washed away
with memories of pretend lust.
What will it take for you to snap out of this?
You're scared to enter the real world so
you fill your heart with worthless emotion.
But what happens the day you realize you've spent
most of your life loving for the wrong reasons?
Reality check, I suspect you'll leave yourself
in despair without ever knowing about your
foolish mistakes. It's safe to say you're drowning fast
and it won't be long until the tide caves in on your heart.
