Life's Forests Poem by Cindy Thacher

Life's Forests

Rating: 5.0

I will continue to find my moral path
in this ungodly aftermath,
Once again, I'll speak out loud
And divulge the truth as I had vowed.

I will allow others to persistently view,
Only the life I shrewdly pursue
Steadfastly, when passing through life's shady groves,
Like a sturdy vessel from a tranquil cove.

I will no longer fill my mind with needless shame,
For we know not from where this cataclysm came.
As vicious thieves, one by one,
Their hostile stint has just begun.

Some days I'll be blinded by the thickened trees,
Or unable to taste the honey of the bees.
Maybe days will be assailed with wretched discord,
Others, life will be filled with tiny rewards.

I'll enjoy the days the sun shines through,
Dismissing the tales that are taboo,
Recalling what is here and now, at best,
And find my path in this life's deep forest.
