Life's Labyrinth Poem by Dustin Newman

Life's Labyrinth

A lifetime I can watch. Your beauty that captivates.
Our lives are a labyrinth. For which time doesnt stop.
Second by second, which way do I turn?
Confusion mounts as I hear you call my name.
Urgency clouds my judgement and wrong turns I make.
How do I discern such clues. Ones that are destined to lead me astray.
Each corner brings excitement yet apprehension.
I cant stop running. You are the need.
You bring joy and pain. Happiness and sorrow.
Though nothing that these walls could stop my endeavor.
Follow your voice. I cling to each word.
I lower hearts shell. Inviting the unknown.
Hoping for pains release with absolution of wrongs envisioned.
My map becomes less a convoluted piece of parchment each day.
And more a compass of one direction. A cardinal whispering my name.
How long does this labyrinth go on? I do not know.
Guidance, at least, is in my favor.
