Life's Sculpture, Original Gayatri Phukan Translated By Bibekananda Choudhury

Rating: 5.0

Am wandering carrying a Sun in my heart
Sometimes getting singed in sunshine
Some other times enjoying its warmth
Wandering around
Getting fragrant with
fragrance of
rivers, hills and forest

Melting away to turn into a rock
Melting again as rock
Made the rock fertile
by sowing corn in it
Made the golden flowers bloom
In the salt water dancing along
Has kept the Sun of the heart
very tenderly and secretly embraced
Turning into an artist
Have carved the sinewy path
In the hard rock of life's sculpture
