Life, So Fair Poem by FANG LIN

Life, So Fair

Wearisome, possibly
Will I give up?
No, absolutely, absolutely not
Persevere, regardless of circumstances
Success comes to those who desire it most.

Picking myself up
Alongside others
Victory is best shared
for loneliness we all dread

Attempts to keep cool, attempts to give my utmost best
Cant deny the deliberateness of effort
My only chance at a coup
Observable obstacles apparently not most lethal
As the insidious foe lay in ambush
and began its assailment at the moment of greatest vulnerability
Sapping energy and devouring hope like a canker
Till there was nothing more to lose...
...But one’s sanity.

Years of effort down to naught
Time, no longer making sense
Lost, nowhere to abide
For sacrifices made could not be undone.

And for all that happens
We owe it to nature
life,
for being fair.
in this world,
there is room for only one victor.
