Lifes Mess Poem by charles carrelli

Lifes Mess

Rating: 5.0

How would I look if I took off this mask?
If I pealed my skin and looked within,
would my soul shine like the sun or
be dim like dusk?
How would I look if I looked from within?
Like an innocent child so free and so wild
or like a man with sins, whose life ends before it begins.
If I said one kind word would it come back to me?
If I said two, what would it do?
Would karma catch up, or would luck take its toll?
Could time run out and spin out of control.
Does simple words, make for a simple life?
Are complications only for the complicated?
Do these questions matter, or are words only important
when said by important people?
So what would I look like if I took off this mask?
Let myself shine in one moment of time?
How would it feel if I was to reveal the truth behind me?
And forget the rest of all of life's mess.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Your poem carries a powerful message. I think we all hide behind masks to some extent. Sometimes, we even hide from ourselves.
