T'was late evening but it seemed
Early morning before sunrise.
The world before me was bright as day
Yet quiet as the grave at midnight.
I strolled around since sleep and peace
Had been so unfriendly.
My heart was heavy and broken;
For no matter how I tried
To dissolve them in the sea of oblivion,
Memories of you kept coming back
Haunting me like a ghost in the dark.
