Like A Lion Poem by Robert Matkovic

Like A Lion

I endure in this desert
hungry and cold
I pretend I'm a lion
To remain both strong and bald

I keep to myself away from the snakes
Who wish their venom I taste
I pretend I'm a lion to scare people away
So I don't have to speak or here what they have to say

I may pretend I'm a lion
but I'm truly a cub
Just wanting a mother of love
