Like The Fighter You Are Poem by Francis Duggan

Like The Fighter You Are

Have you ever lived on the brink of despair
And you felt that life to you was very unfair
And even hope of success from your daydreams have gone
But a tiny voice within you urges you to carry on
With your battles in life if you quit you can't win
So keep on keeping on failure is to give in
Though forasken by lady luck and by the gods
Keep on keeping on you may well beat the odds
From your mountains of worries you have nowhere to hide
And on your darkest moments you have thought of suicide
But you are not a quitter and though your cross heavy to bear
Like the fighter you are you keep hanging in there
Where are they now your so called best mates Joe, Danny and Don
And though the odds stacked against you the fight in you lives on.
