Like Yesterday Poem by Ayandare Mayowa

Like Yesterday

Just like yesterday
She had left home in great mood
Today, she lies among the bells in Herongate wood
There she takes neither water nor food
Now shes got wings, will never work on foot
Oh! sweet melody of the flute
Would have sung along but now she is mute
She was cute
But can see now only what she constitutes
She left its being two years
How can we forget, she was so dear
Just like yesterday, she had left home in great mood
Today, she sings among the bells in Herongate wood
She was/is my mum
Miss you much
