Lilith; The Sad One (2 Of 7) Poem by Lilith Jenenji

Lilith; The Sad One (2 Of 7)

There, always there,
You, you're always there.
In my mind, in my head,
with me 'till I go to bed.
You're the one that takes me over most,
You're the one I've made my host.
Telling me how awful life turned out to be.

When happy moments fill the room,
you're there prophecising doom,
On people that I cherish above all,
you remind me one day they will fall.
They'll all die and you'll be left alone,
No one else to call you on the phone.
More alone then you already are...

I don't believe that life is really death,
when sadness fills my every breath,
I still try to make the best of my days,
In times when my mind seems hazed.
Laughing, singing, playing around,
things like these remind me that I'm not bound
To your perspective of how things are.

'My dear... you are young and don't yet know
the miseries that life has in store.
You must believe me, we need friends too,
and if you act like this towards all of us...
you'll never truly be
one.'
