Lilly Poem by Jeff Fleischer

Lilly

Lilly, you are still so young and I'm getting old.
And yet, we've been down the exact same road.
I've woken up and now my mind is finally clear.
My eyes start to fill up with tears.
Now that I realize that you're not coming back it really hurts.
I get I'm getting my just desserts.
I would take a walk in the rain,
But it wouldn't kill the pain.
I'll never believe that I was just plain silly
For loving you the way I did and still do, Lilly.
