Be better than me
The man had said
Laying cold in his bed
A casket rose, like a Home
No...
Like a Throne

'All I can ask from you my son
Is to be a better Dad'
And with a glad smile - He said
'There wasn't a day that passed
When I wasn't sad -
Because I never owned
What kings have had'

And He cried

'But there wasn't a king
Who will ever find joy
They way you and I can -
Playing in a cardboard castle
With my Boy'

I never knew why he said sorry that night
Until I realized he said 'Goodbye'
Instead of Goodnight...

How could I
Be a greater Dad?
