When i gazed upon you for the first time,
I didn't know what i felt.
There was something there but i wasn't sure,
Until we just sat down and talked.
I realized right then what i felt,
But wasn't sure if it was real.
We talked for a bit but then you asked,
And i told you that i liked you.
If i had know at the time i wouldn't have spoke,
But as i found out later you couldn't be mine.
You were with him, it hurt at the time,
And it still does just you don't know.
We continued to talk and then you said it,
Those magical words that say 'I love you'.
I was surprised at first i didn't know what to say,
So i said it back and it felt so right.
Now the time has gone on and your still not mine,
I wonder if you ever will be.
Every day it gets harder,
I don't know if it will stop.
I love you with all my heart,
I just wish you could do the same.
