Listener Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Listener

They flew around him,
But he possibly couldn't hear.
These random and running,
Musical notes ever tumbling.

They tried entering his ear,
But he possibly could not hear.
These rumbling, rumbling,
Musical notes.

They tried to prance,
Through the jungle dance,
To make themselves obvious,
But he obviously could not hear,
These musical notes.

This man couldn't listen.
He couldn't hear the music,
Of the entire world.

This man was deaf.
