Little Bee Poem by Jeffrey Quattlebaum

Little Bee

I wish I wish
I was a little tiny
bumblebee
flying around in
the summer breeze
and you were
sitting on the grass
reading Rimbaud
and laughing under
a parasol
I would buzz around
and round
buzz buzz buzzing
and I would be saying
in my little tiny bee voice
'Will you please be my friend? '
I wish I wish
you would smile
and with one hand over
your mouth
you would say to me
'My my little bee, I do believe you have embarrassed me! '
and I would buzz around in circles
and loops
until I became dizzy
while you laugh
and blush
under your parasol
and I would buzz buzz buzz
and when I see the right
moment I will say
'Please allow me to make love to you under this parasol! '
and covering your eyes you say
in a cool and sugary sweet dreamy way
'And little bee, how do you think you will satisfy me? '
in a series of loops and
spinning around to right behind your
ear and soft shiny auburn hair
I would say,
'My dear lady with a taste of my honey! '
