Little Red And Handsome Poem by Odile Frascogna

Little Red And Handsome

Rating: 4.5

Whisper Goodbye, there's no you in 'i'

No guilt to suffocate
The light from tired eyes.
Lungs will go on breathing
When worlds collide.

'Don't be unearthly'
Strange is what makes this sphere turn
Hadn't you heard?
Will hate still blind when the light expires
And something blank is left
In the place of the smile you loved.

Inhale the sorrow and delirium
The curtain soon draws
Last applause will die
Like warm December nights
Bitter outside could never freeze
The glow that ripened inside.

Bleed out the encore
Tread sand to the finish line
Stay and wait for flight
Away from judging eyes and pointed fingers.

They wont allow you to run,
Banging doors armed with pitch forks and flames
They'll chase you to your funeral
Screaming for blood
Wont take you alive,
Death came long ago.

Lovely piece of poetry, well articulated and insightfully penned with conviction in poetic diction. I like the line: BITTER OUTSIDE COULD NEVER FREEZE THE GLOW THAT RIPENED INSIDE. A nice poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
