Live Poem by Biff McGuire

Live

In all of life's trials,
free thought prevails.
Security is; a false prophet,
blinding all from reality, from the
simple thrill of day to day existence.
Blocking the senses from the sound,
scent, and taste of food, love and the
simple beauty of our surroundings.
If the contract says you must,
then will you?
If the deadline draws too near,
was the pleasure lost in the promise?
Is your credit a blessing or
a deal with the devil?
If you must kiss, do you still
wish to?
So many of life's questions remain;
unanswered to those without the experience,
and for those with the experience, answered too late.
Instinct is a grand gift, to be used
always with a dose of question, not spoiling the
results with too much.
The consequence is in the end, only the
fault of our own decision or lack of it.
