Live For As Long As You Can Poem by Francis Duggan

Live For As Long As You Can

You do feel suicidal know of financial strife
But live for as long as you can you only have one life
You are not a Jesus he rose from the dead
At least we are told and in scriptures have read

That he rose from the dead believe that if you may
Though the doubters about that have different to say
Some even will tell you 'twas someone other than he
Who died nailed to a timber cross on Calvary.

Apart from that live for as long as you can
For the longest human life in time just a brief span
Houdini from his grave he failed for to rise
He was a mere mortal is that a surprise?

Many believe in an afterlife beyond this Earthly shore
But live for as long as you can death could be forever more
The average human life span of years is three score and ten
And a little bit longer for women than men.

For many in life there is never a win
But you hang in there do not throw the towel in
Who knows for you better times may be ahead
Live for as long as you can you'll be forever dead.
