Livin' The Dream Poem by Quintin Bouillon

Livin' The Dream

Wake up at 6: 30 in the best of moods
As I realize the reason I'm up.
I have to work at my amazing job!
I'm livin' the dream.

In the shower by 6: 45, then out by 7
All nice and squeaky and clean.
Nothing could make this day bad now!
I'm livin' the dream.

Dressed and ready to go by 7: 15
I say my goodbyes to my clan,
Then it's out the front door and into the car
I'm livin' the dream!

I drive down the street with a gleam in my eye
When my workplace comes into view
I see the golden arch over the sunrise and smile
I'm livin' the dream.

It's not the job itself that is the dream,
Definitely not the pay.
But it's the American dream to have a job,
And I'm livin' that dream.
