Lockdown Poem by Linda May Fox

Lockdown

As the wind rushes
noisily through the trees
An eery silence
Touches my inner being.

Birds no nothing
As they flutter by
And just carry on
While I stand alone.

No souls to be seen
Just an empty street
The wind my only company
As it will be for many.

But soon I'll awaken
Into a new spring
Life will return
And we'll carry on
As the birds that flutter and sing.
