Loneliness

LONELINESS

ALL MY LIFE I HAVE SEARCHED
FOR THAT SPECIAL ONE
THE ONE THAT I WANT TO
SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH

I THOUGHT IT WAS YOU
HOPED THAT IT WAS TO BE
FOR WHEN WE FIRST MET
MY HEART TOLD ME YES

ONLY AFTER AWHILE
DID I SEE
THAT IT ALL WAS A LIE
ON YOUR PART OR ON MINE
DOES NOT REALLY MATTER
ANYMORE

FOR MY DREAMS OF LOVE
AND HAPPINESS
A FOREVER WITH YOU
NOW WILL NEVER BE

I AM DESTINED TO BE ALONE
WITH NO ONE TO CALL MY OWN

Poem of the Day

poet Emily Jane Brontë

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
