Loneliness Poem by Emma Good

Loneliness

The loneliness returns.
In a house with others, but my soul does not rest.
The hollow chambers chambers of my heart long for you.
You, who are you?
Is it you that would finally calm my ache?
Is it you that can fulfill my desires?
Where are you?
Our timing has never been right.
I am tired of waiting for you.
My soul weeps gently at the beginning and end of each day.
I try to fill my time with distractions, but they are only momentary.
I wonder if you still long for me.
Can you still close your eyes and melt in my scent?
Can you go to your own world and feel my skin under your fingertips?
Are you getting lost in a daydream of our kisses?
I wait until I hear from you.
You, my souls best friend.
