Loneliness And Solitude Poem by Subhojit Kar

Loneliness And Solitude

Rating: 4.5

Singularity is a coin
with loneliness on its flop side;
turn the coin around
and you get solitude
on the flip side.

One can be lonely
even in the midst of a crowd
if the crowd speaks a language
that the lonesome soul just doesn't understand,
But one will never be lonely
if he has discovered 'the bliss of solitude',
if I may coin a phrase
from the great English bard.

In this strange and crowded world
we all come alone
and we have to go all alone.
We form some tenuous links
in between this coming and going,
some of which we call interactions
and some of which we call relations.
Little do we realize
that basically it's all an illusion.

So it all depends
which side of the coin
you choose to look at- -
whether you choose to be unhappy
by thinking you're lonely
Or you decide to be happy
by enjoying the gifts of solitude.

Absolutely wonderful. Solitude is bliss whereas loneliness is the state of mind which gives birth to unhappiness, depression and other nagative sides of life. Solitude and loneliness- the two opposite sides of mind have been nicely elaborated in the poem. This poem deserves 10. Keep writing.
