Lonely Nights Poem by Matthew Bui

Lonely Nights

If only ravens can shed their darken feathers
If only love would last forever
If only one's heart could be measure
Then our ties would not sever
Our stories would be treasures
And our memories would bring pleasure
I thought we could survive such cold weather

Yet such birds are bound by fate
The light came far too late
Your selfish desire could not wait
Patience was never your trait
You quickly bound a mate
Now we're left with chilling hate
I still carry this heavy weight

I wish for a shining light
So things could be right
I wish not to fight
So my days can be bright
I wish my heart can take flight
So my soul will grow in height
Damn, I hate these lonely nights!
