The crowd looked on as the old man cried,
But no one knew his name.
The crowd looked on when the old man died,
And they all said what a shame.
No one heard his cries for help,
And no one heard his pleas,
His wife was gone, he was all-alone,
And it brought him to his knees.
He led a blameless life you know,
But, I guess he had had enough,
He didn’t have much money,
And things were very tough.
I think I’ll end it all today,
I really need to rest,
I think I’ll leave the world behind
I think that’s for the best.
The crowd looked on as the hearse went by,
And they all thought what a shame,
There was no one there when they buried him,
Yes, you guessed it, no one came.
