Longhorn Visit Poem by Marilyn Lott

Longhorn Visit

He stood tall and so very proud
Held his large head way up high
Watched me from across the field
As I continued to stroll on by

There were several of them there
All sizes and shapes I saw
But most of them had one thing
That was truly an exciting draw

They were long horn cattle you see
Wide and handsome were those horns
And I enjoyed being in their presence
But careful like a rose with thorns

They were blotched with many shades
And fascinating shapes of those colors too
Interesting patterns on their massive heads
Like a hat that sat kind of askew

I know I’ll visit them once again
As they were casual and fun to see
I’m sure they’ll still be out in their field
And excited to visit with me!
