Longing Poem by Paul Gomez

Longing

I wish you were mine, to share my deepest secrets and dreams.

I do and I say all I can to show you how much I feel for you,
but all my efforts fall on blind eyes and deaf ears.

With my arms outstretched reaching for you
I only embrace the sweet smell of your perfume.
It does not matter how many times I fail.

As long and I can see the twinkle in your eyes,
the warmth of your smile,
I will continue on my journey for your softest of lips,
to be pressed upon mine.

If I never complete my journey,
I will still have you in my dreams,
where you walk amongst the clouds.
Right where an angel belongs.
