Look At Me Poem by Francis Kokutse

Look At Me

Look at me and let my image
remain in your memory bank
and never allow anything to
cause it to be re-formatted,
because it is the only thing
that can make you remember
all the nice moments we have had.

Take my arms in yours
and let me be the man
you have always wanted by
your side and do not let me go.

Sing to me and let me dance
to your tunes that would make
me remember where l am;
so that no other woman would
be able to pluck me away from you.

Cuddle me with your supple arms
and let me become the lap-dog
that would become your guide
and not to abide by your wishes.

Seek me and find me hidden under
your most trusted corner where your soul
commutes with mine to create the peace
that we have sought for ourselves.
