Looking Back Poem by Almira Bausley

Looking Back

When I look back from the end of my life
Will I see love and peace
Or bitterness and strife
Will I be looking down from a mountain
Or up from a valley
What about my loved ones how will they remember me?
When I look back from the end of my life
Will I have fulfilled my purpose
Or will I be holding wasted time
And my children who will they be
Will I have left them an honorable legacy?
When I look back from the end of my life
Will I hang up my gloves as a retiring champ
Or will I hang my head in shame
Not having one single person remember my name
When I look back will I see all the victories
I could have won
Or will I draw my last breath and give up the ghost
declaring “it is done”
And when I arrive at the end of my life
Who will come and meet me to take me home
Will I find fear and regret
Or peace for my Soul.

this is a great poem that reminds me of socrates whot said' an unexamined life is not worth living' and your poem reminds me that there are others that reflect on their lives and share for other to also reflect on thier own lives, again great write and thanks for sharing.
