Looks Like Rain Poem by bob barci

Looks Like Rain

I sit on the steps
of the front porch,
as I wait for my ride.
Here, I deal with wind,
and a grey, cloud filled sky.
It's a little cool,
so I'll have to get a jacket.
And darn, it sure looks like rain.
Why does the weather always do that?
So nice and pleasant while I'm on the job,
Then does this when I've
places to go, people to see.
Traveling to my place for today,
not only does it look like rain,
but it's beginning to feel like it too.
A sampling of lunch is put off 'till later.
A brisk walk is made brisker.
Thoughts of wet disappointment fill my head,
along with weather shattered plans,
and the need to make new.
I'm always glad to see these people regardless,
But rain won't let us do some outdoor things.
Hey, those clouds seem to have gotten darker.
Now, not only does it look like rain,
but it definitely feels like it too.
