Losing The Fight Poem by Melanie DeichertMesedea

Losing The Fight

I could taste you in my throat
Feel you touch my neck
And come on my back
I don’t really need it

Your finger in my eye
Your foot onto my shin
The fist upon my chin
I’ll pay you back ASAP

The fingers in my hair
I felt your hand across my cheeks
The elbow in my tummy
I’ll be back to get the rest

You took my friends away
I’d rather take that break again
You pushed me off the stairs
Going up to heaven, and into a pit
Leading down to hell where I would finally see you
