Loss Of Invincibility Poem by Not The Pilot

Loss Of Invincibility

he's on top of the world, he can't be beat
a word missing from his dictionary would be defeat
says he's more than standing tall, he's flying right now
he can't be touched, yeah, that's how he feels

but then his money ran out, and so did his supply
and he had to face something referred to as real life
ha can't face anything looking at him
he needs his fix, and he needs it
now

he writes a note to himself
'for future reference, your chamber is empty
don't get ahead of yourself,
you have nothing to fall back on but a concrete street begging
for company'

but the words he writes, he doesn't believe
say's 'there is no future for me, i'll throw myself away
my whole life as gone to hell anyway'

now, i'd like to say, that he found an escape,
that he saw light, that he found his place. in the world.
but the reality is that his fantasy was over, and he's gone

yeah, and the truth is, that it's your fault and it's mine
for not taking out the time, taking his hand, showing him there's more,
that he's not alone, that there is someone, that there is a
God.
