Lost Love Poem by Cory Calder

Lost Love

She runs through the rain,
Into the cold, dark night.
My heart is in pain,
As she fades from sight.

I begged, “don’t go”,
“don’t leave me, please”.
I tried to follow,
But fell to my knees.

Tears pour from my eyes.
I helplessly see,
Her run from my cries.
I can’t stop her flee.

She left me here,
Broken, cold, and wet.
My heart begins to sear,
Thinking of when we met.

Please come back,
I have made no sin.
You are what I lack,
My sweet Madelyn.

That night I had a strange dream, and I wrote this poem about it.
