Love And Hate Poem by Amare Abebe

Love And Hate

Rating: 4.5

Love and I, I thought we were
Common nemeses of hate,
Love left out of the window
When I came in through the gate.
I asked a friend of hate's
As to what to love befell,
The friend of hate seemed in awe
But about my love it would not tell;
It grinned at me for quite a while
It looked at me deep in the eye,
And shoved off out the door
Cheerful, but without a bye.

Love and hate seem to be infinitely apart, but they are actually close door neighbours. Love can instantly change to hate and vice versa ones their natural balance is altered. A nice poem, well articulated and insightfully penned with conviction. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
