Love and Romance

Poetry's love and romance
It's all about that first dance
Prom night I held you close
My heart's budding rose

Your smile lit my candle
Left behind my childhood
My newly discovered handle
Gateway to my manhood

My world suddenly stood still
Two Hearts frozen in time
My total surrender at will
Your lips caressing mine

Now as I fondly look back
Blue memories color my shades
Your image revives my tracks
For first love never fades

Eternal footings of your treasure
Tracking through my relationships
Your yardstick my only measure
I use for my heart's trips

Fate decided to give you to another
My right hand missing the other
Amputee dreams of a new heaven
God's flash creation in seven
My two hands will be together
The joining of us two forever!

EVEN such is Time, that takes in trust

And pays us but with earth and dust;
