Love At First Touch Poem by Ima Ryma

Love At First Touch

The two of us met in first grade.
He sat right behind me in class,
And pulled upon my pigtail braid.
I was not gonna let that pass.
And turned to Jack, that was his name.
Whereupon Jack just smiled at me.
Whereupon I took careful aim,
And my fist in Jack's eye did be.
He asked my name and I said, 'Flo.'
Throughout the class were whispers of
The two of us had acted so
That both of us were now in love.

One pulled pigtail and one black eye,
It was true love, I'm not sure why.
