Love At Long Last Poem by Irma Goo

Love At Long Last

Rating: 5.0

I'm horny and I'm lonely
And I like you
But
You don't know me

Impossible to miss you
You tread on my tissues
And dance through my issues

Never knew a moment so fleeting
Was worth all this grasping and
reaching

Look what you've made me into

I'm horny and I'm homely
And I need you
But you don't see me

Strength only a feeling
Forced for my well being
Pride  a luxury reserved
For the non suffering

I was fine until I saw you

Baby I'm stormy and I'm comely
I'm moody and I'm brooding
Stop stealing glances
You're looting

Cupid's arrow
Is he shooting
And the people down below
Are they rooting
For you to feel the blow
To hit you strong like a row
Leave you shattered, battered
Clothes tattered
Confused and staggered
my name is all that you know

Baby you stare
While I'm flattered
It's terribly aware
How you continue
Piercing without a care
It's a little rude
But this is crude and
We are painfully new

But one day
You'll look back and think
Of the girl that was me
That name you once knew
Embedded in your heart
And stamped in your tissues
You'll look back and wonder
And ponder "who? " Who

Who was that girl
Who hit me like a whirl
And whose soul I stirred
And mixed with mine
And the holes were filled
And steady like time
Who walked swift past memories
And laughed in the face of calamity

Who was that girl
Who's name escapes me
And I'll look back at you
Hoping, praying, awaiting
The moment when you'll open your eyes
And look at me and realize
That I'm still here and I hold you dear
And to your side, I've always been near
And we lived without fear
But now we are old
No longer bold
Forced to repeat stories long told

And it is fine
To sit here with mine
My heart grows fonder
But still he thinks and he ponders
In his mind, he wanders
Searching for me
The girl he once knew
But now she's only a "who? "
