Love Is Like Poem by Phyllis Strong

Love is like a beautiful flower,
You have to plant a seed for it to grow.
Love is like a quiet whisper,
You have to be a good listener; for you to know.

Love is like a newborn baby,
You have to nurture her, for her to grow.
Love is like a farmer’s harvest,
What you plant, you reap what you sow.

Love is like a glass of water,
The body needs it to survive.
Love is like a blazing fire,
Adding fuel makes it thrive.

Love is like left and right,
You need both, to walk hand-in-hand.
Love is like the shore of the beach,
Endless, like the grains of sand.

Love is like the chirping of the birds,
So beautiful to hear.
I love you; can echo forever,
When whispered in the ear.

Love is like an illuminating light,
The glow is impossible to hide;
When you’re with the one you love
Walking side by side.
