Love Lost Poem by Jaishree Nair

Love Lost

Rating: 5.0

Hating himself too,
Searching for reasons to hate her too,
The abhorrence like venom fuming within,
At fault all others...

What she saw was all wrong,
What he felt was absolutely right,
Trust- a word meaningless and unknown,
Believed only his thoughts!

Her follies were never forgiven,
Her rectitudes were never appreciated,
The more she loved, the more he hated,
The more she came close, the more he moved away...

Her love he needed not,
Her beseeching eyes he saw not,
Her throbbing heart he cared not,
Her lost spirit he realised not...

Until the cold clasp of death
numbed her to the mercy of eternal slumber!

Nicely painted the common situations of women in many parts of our world.

as you wound the spring and raised the tension by bars... it made my stomach churn... a story sadly so common place....i felt like i was hovering over the subcontinent and seeing thousands upon thousands of black holes... you have done well to highlight such immense and sustained suffering nicely written liked

The unfeeling man who hated himself could not love any one else! He failed to notice the inner suffering of his wife and turned a deaf ear to her pleas! At last death relieved her of her worthless existence...! Something that happens very commonly in the new society in which we live! A poignant write!
