Love, Not Out Of A Fairy Tale Poem by Zoe Meyer

Love, Not Out Of A Fairy Tale

Rating: 5.0

Love is lying awake in agony
because you haven't seen him in a week
shedding more than one tear
when that love song plays on the radio

Love is kissing the necklace he gave you
when his tantalizing lips can't be reached
kissing right in front of my house
then kissing on the swings across the street

Love is risking everything for him
sneaking out to walk to his house
lying to get that moment alone with him
kissing that frog hoping for your prince

Love is smiling when he sends you a text
falling for every cheesy pick-up line
being able to talk about anything
arguing over who's the better person

Love is saying 'Good Morning Beautiful' each day
blowing Romeo and Juliet out of the water
apologizing for stuff that isn't your fault
ending every conversation with 'I Love You'

Love is noticing every single flaw
and loving how great he is with them
taking the long way around
to hopefully get a glimpse of him

Love is saying 'I Do' at the altar
adoring him even after death
cherishing every breath taking moment
believing in happily ever after

Love is not a perfect fairy tale
it takes its ups and downs
but it's that rollercoaster effect
that makes it all the worth while
